Great question! I have used a frog kick for about 50 years ... the only time I use a flutter is if I don't have enough side-to-side room. My usual swim (surface) kick is breast stroke or back stroke. But .... I don't use split fins which pretty much require a tight flutter.
Stayed in one of the condos with family .... awesome place. As for the diving, the shop is efficient and pretty typical of the Keys ... I.E., no problems. Reefs are in good shape.
Just for the heck of it, you may want to have a look at http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/olympus-outlet/402903-mis-aligned-fiber-optic-ports-e-pl1-housing-pt-ep01.html ....
However, don't know how 2 strobes could be affected unless you have a dual cable plugged into one port (the weaker one) or...
Thanks, I think I now understand the difference between Oly UFL-2 RC mode and the YS-01. In my case, with the UFL-2 and the E-PL1 in RC mode, you can visually see the different behavior of the popup flash. If the E-PL1 is set to RC = ON (without a remote strobe attached) the popup does not...
There seems to be a misunderstanding about RC Mode. RC Mode is Wireless TTL .... RC Mode must be set to ON for wireless (fiber optic). If RC Mode is set to OFF the camera will NOT communicate TTL commands to the remote strobe (the YS-01) thru the fiber optic cable. If RC Mode is OFF it will...
I'm assuming you are using two fiber optic cables (one for each strobe) and both strobes are TTL ( neither is a slave). Since the strobes fire, it does sound like you have lost TTL and they are firing early (off the preflash/TTL burst). For a start, you might try switching "fill-in" to "full"...
As an alternate (and also works on my other rigs) I decided to assemble a cheap Dual Fiber Optic Cable Assembly. For those that are interested, here are the components, the steps to assemble, and some photos of the project. Some of the stuff was already in my parts cabinet.
1) Tools - fine...
Yes, the INON 2-hole plug with 2 cables in one port is a very good option .... In my case, I prefer using both ports because I have a lot of single optic cables with attached molded ends in my "spares" kit. I will probably make up one dual cable anyway since it will work fine on my other housings.
The gasket .... when I get a chance I'll add a coat of clear fingernail polish to the edges to seal any loose fiber. A rubber gasket would probably be nicer but the one I made is from a self-stick furniture pad (the kind you use on the leg of a chair to keep it from scratching your hardwood...
The gasket between the housing and flash assembly has resolved the problem. With a gasket in place the flashtube is about 3/16 inch further back and is no longer blocked by the housing. The centermost optic port is not directly lined up but it's good enough to improve the output. Before...
Not what I'm saying ....
For example, in manual mode at 1/4, the 2nd (rightmost strobe/innermost fiber optic port) will FAIL to fire sometimes (frequently).
In wireless E-TTL mode, it may fail to fire the rightmost strobe entirely, or fail to fire the pre-flash, or the subsequent calculated...
Actually, I don't think I'm the only one. This is from one of your threads:

I also noticed a footnote that says 30 frame recording is limited to 10 sec per movie .... apparently you need to reduce the frame rate for longer recording.
My guess is that you are recording to internal memory rather than a storage card. Check page 47 of your manual for recording times for various storage.
Thanks. The double plug is a decent solution. What I have done (still awaiting an in-water test) is to make a gasket of felt (one side adhesive) that fits in the housing around the two ports and pushes the pop-up flash back about 1/8th inch. Now the articulated flashtube housing is not...
I posted this in another thread (a thread with Phil Rudin's pics) without response so I thought I would try a new thread. I have a problem with the alignment of the fiber optic ports in the PT-EP01. The ports are too far apart. As viewed from the back, the left (with the external guard) is not...
I'm pretty happy with my Cressi Travelight (the vest style). It does have a few quirks though. If you use the back weight pockets (high ... like tank strap pockets) they can allow a weight to slip out around the flap while you are inverted. I now but the loose weight in a mesh bag (like a...
