    OXYGEN DEMAND RESCUSCITATOR

As PADI dive centre we are required to have O2 kits on our boats, so rather than an alternative solution to that I'm just looking for a reasonably priced supplier for a replacement demand valve as DAN do not have any in stock. If anyone knows of a good supplier please let me know, especially if...

Erm, that went over my head!! I'm talking about this... DAN: Online Store | scuba diving safety equipment

    OXYGEN DEMAND RESCUSCITATOR

We use 3 DAN oxygen kits, but over the years have had problems with the '2nd stage' on the oxygen regulator corroding due to salt exposure. This is clearly a ridiculous design for dive equipment as even with frequent cleaning some salt exposure is inevitable in daily dive use. Does anyone know...

    High Pressure Seat Rs-860

I have just purchased some TUSA RS-811 regs and within 2 weeks of rental use they have started freeflowing as a result of the same HP seat pictured above getting worn. I've already flipped them over to provide a clean face for continued use, but wondering if anyone above has any contacts for...

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

Clearly there are many different viewpoints here coming from many different groups within the dive community, and this illustrates the difficulty of introducing policies of any sort, especially when we have such a varied client base, from backpackers doing first time dive courses (none of whom...

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

Yes I amended our website a couple of days ago with a 'holding policy' for now. I'm still thinking through the best way to approach this. I've exchanged a number of emails with DAN who have no specific answers. They said that in the absence of proper medical facilities or transport here that...

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

As an update on the DAN issue, I have exchanged a couple of emails with them which clearly demonstrate they haven't got a clue what they are talking about in this area. They made vague references of divers seeking a medical assessment and DAN organizing a boat charter. When I asked them who...

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

I think there is some misunderstanding here..... I mentioned that one option was to ask for medical certs for over 50s, but another was to ask for proof of insurance, which I think is a fairly common request at resorts etc. I'm merely looking at options here, and certainly not trying to be...

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

Its a good question, and part of the reason I started this thread...... the local doctors suggested 50. Also when taking email reservations its easier to have a criteria based on age than it is on other factors which are less easy to define. Any policy will have grey areas

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

Agreed, and no policy can be expected to cover all situations. Just looking for a guideline policy that will both act to inform people of the issues of coming to a remote location, as well as of course ensuring that medical issues are disclosed and assessed

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

We are on Little Corn Island, Nicaragua as mentioned above. And yes its very disappointing to see insurance companies doing very little to help and leaving it to the sick patients (which of course means we have to then step in) to make all arrangements, which is another reason why I want to look...

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

Unfortunately yes I have seen divers with DAN insurance (and other providers) who have received no help from them whatsoever in terms of logistics and arrangements (I don't know what success they have had later with reclaiming costs based on cash payments with no receipts). I have emailed DAN...

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

Yes of course I would let people know at the time of enquiry/booking!! From basic online research it seems that dive centres in some other locations also have similar policies, Maldives, Gozo and Malta are ones I saw mentioned online. As mentioned, I am not looking to turn people away from...

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

Thanks for the replies guys. I share your thoughts also, which is why I want to approach this matter sensitively, whilst at the same time making sure that customers are not taking undue risks. We are located in Little Corn Island, Nicaragua which has nothing more than a basis clinic with a part...

    DIVING OVER 50 YEARS OLD

As an operator of a dive shop in a remote location we are a long way from decent medical facilities. As our island becomes more popular with tourists as opposed to just backpackers then the age of our customers is more varied and we are getting more people wanting to dive who are over 50. We've...

    NEW COMPRESSOR ADVICE

We're in the market for a new compressor but have some constraints that make choice very important. Any help or advice as to a suitable model, or if anyone knows of a decent distributor or one for sale also very welcome... To explain our situation and what we want.... We are on a small remote...

    BAUER DIVEMATE 8 FINAL PRESSURE

I am running a 5 year old BAUER Divemate 8 which from new had the final pressure set to 3400 PSI from the manufacturer. However we've recently been losing some of this pressure such that after cooling, tanks are only at around 2800/2900 PSI which some of our divers complain about. See picture of...

Scubapro MK17 "black cover / cap" replacement part

I'm also looking to get hold of a couple of these, although for TUSA regs which are basically the exact same model so I would not need the decal, just the cover. Please can you email me at info@dolphindivelittlecorn.com with your contact details so I can order these, thanks, Adam

    Bauer compressor oil

Thanks a lot swampdiver, that's exactly the kind of information I was looking for. I know we've used Secolube 500 in the past, not sure why recently we've ended up using August Industries SL-500 instead, but I guess we thought it was the same oil just packaged for a different supplier. I will...

    Bauer compressor oil

Yes Ultrachem can ship oil, but as I live on an island with no postal service it would end up getting stuck in the same customs warehouse that my other oil is currently sat in! That's why I'm looking for an alternative that I can readily buy in a store in country and avoid lengthy processes
