Panasonic Lumix TS2 w/Ikelite housing. DO I need a correcting filter?

Hello, this is my third underwater camera. 1st one was a Sealife. I flooded it boarding the boat from the beach. Housing was slightly opened. Water was high. And I'm not very tall. :dork2: Then I thought, I should get a water proof camera to avoid further accidents while boarding the boat...

Computer transmitter: permanently mounted on the first stage?

I got a computer with air transmitter, and I was wondering if I should mount the transmitter on the first stage and leave it there indefinitely but I'm afraid of damages when packing or traveling. Should I just mount it when I am at the diving sites, since it look pretty easy to do? Thanks...

Aqualung Kronos Supreme and Calypso Octo: compatibility issue?

Thanks everybody, this is what basically the rep at leisurepro told me today. "Don't spend the extra $100.00 for another Octo, just have that one adjusted and you'll be fine'. I was surprised, usually any other business would have me offered an 'upgrade' for more $$. So my next dive trip I'll...

Aqualung Kronos Supreme and Calypso Octo: compatibility issue?

Now I'm scratching my head even more....my LDS charges $100.00 to setup regulators that aren't purchased there. Maybe I should just avoid the trouble and purchase a different Octo that doesn't need to be adjusted. Which one would you recommend, without spending too much $$$? Thanks again for...

Aqualung Kronos Supreme and Calypso Octo: compatibility issue?

Well, I ordered the Kronos Supreme and the Calypso Octo. When I read the instructions/brochure that came with the Octo, the aqualung calypso) I realized that it's not designed to be used with the Kronos. I assume it's because the Kronos has a balanced first stage, the Calypso is not designed...

    Lake Rawlings, VA diving

Question from a newbie: the buddy that I got certified with, is busy with his 'boating season' (Lucky him to have a boat). I want to go to Lake Rawlings, I just got my OW certification and cannot wait to dive more, but now I'm stuck with the fact that I don't have a buddy to come with me. How...

    Diaphram vs Piston regs.....

Thanks for your reply. So the first stage should be still the same of the EOS? If so, where can I find this setup?

    Diaphram vs Piston regs.....

I have two regulators in my wish list at LP. I'm still debating. I want to be able to dive at the local quarry, where last time I reached 47 degrees F. (and I will never dive any colder), and in the warm waters of the Caribbeans. Mares Abyss 22 Oceanic EOS FDX10 DVT I understand...

VERY experienced divers: please tell me some of your old stories..

Tell me when the bcd was not invented yet, the regulators had two hoses and finding a diving shop to refill your tanks in the Caribbean was an adventure and there were no Suuntos computers or Resorts to initiate you to scuba diving. How did you do it?:D I bet you had a lot of fun. Thanks in...

Controlled ascent. How to tell you're doing it at the right rate?

I was certified yesterday in a quarry, cold and terrible vis. During an ascent without the line I had trouble to figure out if I was descending or ascending because I had nothing to look at beside my buddy. Both hands were busy, one straight up and one on the bcd inflator as per manual. I...
