Dive buddy for Blue Heron Bridge

Hey, divers. I am looking for a dive buddy in the next week or so that can guide me around the Blue Heron Bridge in West Palm. I would like to take a bunch of pictures. I have over 1500 dives under my belt. Thanks.

    Which agency to choose??

I have been through a couple of different agencies. Look at the program and make sure it's geared toward public safety diving. Just because it say's so doesn't mean it. Find out what dive teams in your area use. Try to be compatible with others, so when you get to a scene you can work together...

    Equipment for sale

One suit is a Viking pro, I assume size 2, with size 3 underwear. The other is also a 2 or a 3 with size 3 underwear booties and cap. I would think $700 for both would be fair. You can make a tax deductible payment to our fire association. I have included pictures. Let me know what you think...

    Equipment for sale

My department has several Scubapro FFM's with wireless coms. We also have 2 Viking pro dry suits in good and serviceable condition. I am wondering if any PSD is interested in this equipment. PM if you are. Pictures to follow.

    Dive harness for PSD

I think you need a special rated harness that is for rappelling. Most PSD harnesses are not rated for that. I think safety regs. require leg straps as well as shoulder straps. We use the LGS harness which is great for diving, but I wouldn't rappel in it.

    PSD Equipment Advice

Remember, the comments are only opinions. Read all of them and weigh them carefully. Lifeguard Systems is a great training institute and can help you on equipment and purchasing. We just set a 40 member regional team up 2 years ago. Let me start with the tanks. While I use HP100cu/ft...

    Pensacola Diving

I agree with you. I read the OP to fast and didn't see the "fairly new divers". I will say that what you describe as conditions at that wreck are we have for normal conditions with less vis. The charter I took didn't allow divers without technical certs and a dive plan to go to the deck. The...

HP Tanks - What's the point?

I have 3 Faber HP100's. I love them. I wear less weight around my waist. It also gives me more air than an AL80 for a safety factor. I can't speak for a LP tank, since I have never used one. The shops that have a problem filling HP tanks, do they sell them? All the shops in my area sell HP...

Which equalization technique do you use MOST OFTEN?

When I took my class in "84", all they taught was the valsalva technique. I have tried the others since then, but, the valsalva seems to be the only thing that works for me. I do try not to blow to hard.

Did I make a mistake regarding proper procedure? No safety stop after 1 min at depth.

Great discussion. It made me look up my dive charts, which I haven't looked at in years. I'm curious how you made out. Did you call DAN? I have talked to them before and found them very helpful.

    1mm Wetsuit in 80 degrees?

The truth is everyone is different and always changing. Whenever I dove South Florida I used to wear swim trunks and tee shirts. I do have a little insulating and northern blood. It seems now, as I get older, I do get chilled. I started wearing 1mm suits. I find it very comfortable on multiple...

    Gauge magnifier

I will have to try Hydrotac. I am pretty set in my ways. I still use the US Divers Pacifica mask with the purge valve for my stash. I always get teased about it, but I have been using this mask since "84". I can still find them on ebay for short money. I won't change computers until this one...

    Gauge magnifier

I can see great distances with my contacts in. Unfortunately it ruins my reading. So, underwater I can't read my gauges. Does anyone know of a company that sells gauge magnifiers? I have an Aladdin Pro computer. Thanks.

Brand new Sealife DC1400 complete kit

I am selling a brand new Sealife DC1400 complete kit. The plastic is still on the camera and housing. There are 2 batteries, a wide angle lens, pro flash, carrying case and all the manuals and cords. It also comes with European adapters. Just add water. I am asking $799. If you are not from the...
