Dive Master Swim Test in Meters or Yards

It is up to the instructor. If you are doing PADI, the instructor manual gives you the time ranges for both meters and yards. It doesn't matter which is used as long as you are scored appropriately. I would imagine any other agency in both the US and worldwide would have the ranges for both.

    Leisurepro online

You have to do what is best for you, but if it were me I would only purchase lower ticket items and only items that they are the authorized dealer for. Anything else - you will be taking a chance. I would do a search and look for old posts on leisure pro. You will find that there are...

    Millbrook this Sunday?

I met a couple of guys with a VA Tech tent. Were either of them you guys? I might have said "dive shop" in a generic way, but that isnt the name of the shop I am with. I was with open water students.

I have not been contacted since the last message stating my rep would get in touch with me. I PM'd my phone and email on last contact.

    Dutch Springs....number of dives

You must be high!!! I got 51 degrees on that last dive we did - that was max depth of 44'. And remember I flooded my drysuit so I know it was cold! I also read 44 degrees for 55' dive that same weekend.

    Fusion seals too big

I am 5'2" and about 105 lbs., but my neck and wrists are especially teenie. I have the 2XS/XS Fusion. Were you able to easily replace the neck seal with a neoprene seal? That might be a great alternative for me (a warmer one too). How easy was it to do? I did take the class at DEMA on...

    Fusion seals too big

So I just bought the Fusion suit at DEMA, and tried it out this past weekend. To my dismay, the seals are too big for me out of package. I finally pulled the wrists down far enough to keep them from leaking, but no matter where I place the neck seal it just leaks like crazy and burps itself...

How often you call a dive for ear problems?

I have had ear issues from my very first time in the pool for OW. After numerous times at the ENT it seems I have somewhat conditioned my ears, but on weekends that I bounce a lot with classes, I do have trouble the 2nd day getting down. I typically will just go extrememly slowly - sometimes...

    DEMA Bound

I did have a blast. The shop I work with put me into a bunch of cool seminars and I had a great time. I have to say I did feel bad for all the vendors stuck in the booths.

    Your max depth!

107'. I get VERY paranoid at that depth, so I am going to stay right around there or above for a while. I don't want to test my limits of how narced I can get.

    DEMA Bound

So many people seem so jaded and not very excited about going. This is the first DEMA I have been allowed to go to (just got my DM), and I for one am very excited. Maybe it will be a complete let down, but it is Vegas for goodness sakes!!! I will be the one having a good time if anyone...

    Becoming a DM?

I am much like you - still new myself, but I just finished my DM cert. I started DMC with about 45 dives and I have only 70 dives in the 6 months I have been certified as a diver (total). Lots of people will tell you that you are too new just like they told me. If you want to do it - go for...

Petite Diver cannot find full 7mm suit

I am exactly her size, and I have a Waterproof 3mm, 5mm, and 7mm. They make an XS short - which is perfect. It is a fantastic suit with anatomical cut (inluding bends for elbow and knees). Not cheap -but well worth it.

Nitrox course without dives - what am I missing?

On the PADI site it cleary states the course DOES count toward Master SCUBA Diver rating. Not sure when they changed it, but they did. There are no dives to be certified for Nitrox. I did it without dives based on what the maerials stated, and my instructor contacted PADI to make sure he was...

    Fairfax dive shops?

Nova Dive Center in Sterling is a small drive, but well worth it. They are also great with certifying younger divers.

Looking for advice from Morehead area divers

I dove the Indra with about 20 dives under my belt and it was a perfect first wreck dive for my experience level (also my first boat and ocean dive). Perfect place to get yourself comfortable. We also did the wreck specialty while we were out on her - perfect training ground - just remember...
