There is no charging in the camera itself witht he DC1200, requires the battery to be pulled from the camera to charge.

The rubber hood is made to sit in channels on the light and is glued in so it is possible that it has come loose but should be hard to turn. If you are unsure if easy or not, you can return the light to our service dept for them to take a look at it. Joe
