sealife sl961 arm extend

Hello, still have old strobes: SL960D and SL961. It looks like bought of them have same "Loc-line" pieces in handle. So, I have little DIY project on my mind, but wont to hear experiences from other people as well. Did anyone tried (and hopefully succeed) to extend arm using some "alternative"...
