In general 10 Bar housings are good entry level, aluminum housings. Very durable, good locking system. Some cold water divers that wear heavy gloves have issues with access to some of the rear buttons on the housings. This is true for Nex housings. Then again others have no problem with them. This is a very popular housing for warmer water divers. The way the buttons engage the camera controls can, for some, take a little getting used to. But at it's price range a good option.

The 10Bar Nex5N housing is here and in (limited) stock. We also can bundle it with a flat port for the 16mm lens. A fisheye dome is available, etc.

Can you provide a little more detail about the comment on how the buttons engage the camera controls and how this effects the operation of the housing? Is there a tray that screws to the camera to keep it in proper position in the housing? Thanks,

rwe, with all controls on all housings a big issue is how they "feel" when you are using them. Due to the engineering on some high end housings the buttons give you a "solid" feel of contact when using them. Others the feeling is a little "softer" and you have to look in the LCD or Viewfinder to make sure the button engaged. More advanced engineering allows the mfg to "spread out" the buttons making for easier access. The main issue with 10Bar for cold water divers is the buttons are close together and while some are raised they can be difficult for divers wearing heavy dry glove systems to push without coming in contact with other function buttons. Again those not wearing gloves or neoprene gloves have less of an issue with this.

The camera "drops" directly into the housing and does not use a tray, it is a very solid fit. 10Bar is an excellent housing at it's price point as mentioned before information is the key to being pleased with your decision.

I've recently purchased a 10 Bar 5N housing. Of course its finishing is not as smooth as nauticam, but it's working cool for me. In view of the price is around 1/3 of Nauticam's price so I would go for 10bar and have a try!

Here are some pics with Tele Port, 16mm Pancake port and 40mm extension port. 388513_10150470429672051_732162050_9234330_136468027_n.jpg404347_10150470430427051_732162050_9234334_1221145151_n.jpg392716_10150470430037051_732162050_9234333_521173900_n.jpg
