Concentration falls off a cliff after 7/8 hours of mental activity. Whether tiredness did or didn’t play a part it’s a bad idea to push the envelope when exhausted. But then there’s 13 people needing rescued and rains coming so you can appreciate why many people have been pushing the boundaries.[/QQUOT

Mental toughness is the Hallmark of being a Special Operation Guy... The training is to weed out the weak of mind.. It has little to do with physical strength... In fact, Very few guys with big body's and huge mulcular frames make it.. They need to much food to feed their bodies..

Bravo Zulu to all those involved in this rescue mission. Without your professionalism, dedication and skills, the results of this mission may have been tragic. Very unfortunate that former Thai Seal Saman Kunan lost his life during the mission, but anyone involved in Search and Rescue does it "So Others May Live".

I'm watching 20/20 about this accident now. Very interesting so far....

Profit made from any commercial exploitation of this incidence should go directly to the estate of Mr. Saman Kunan who lost his life in this epic rescue operation. And the King of Thailand should declare a day of mourning on his eventual funeral. May be even given a state funeral!
Anyone who has never been to Thailand or only been to those tourist traps, should venture into the countryside to learn more about Thai peoples. They are very humble indeed.

I believe he was buried a couple of days ago.

“Tributes have been paid to Saman Kunan, a former navy Seal diver who died in the attempted rescue of a group of Thai boys trapped in a cave.

His body has been taken aboard a C-120 plane to Bangkok and he will receive a royal-sponsored funeral in the coming days.”
