Are you a diver interested in a cruise that will let you dive the best ports of call the Caribbean has to offer? Are you a water baby who wants to lounge on white sand beaches, swim in crystal clear water, and snorkel pristine reefs? If so, then join us on the 7th annual Cruise Critic Scuba Cruise aboard the Crown Princess on February 19, 2012.

This is a luxury 14 night cruise that departs from San Juan Puerto Rico with all the bells and whistles you have come to expect from a Princess cruise! There will be an optional 6 port, two tank dive package with unlimited shore diving (in some ports) in Tortola, Dominica, Barbados, St. Lucia, Bonaire & Curacao. We will be diving the infamous wreck of the Rhone in Tortola and visiting dive sites, such as Superman’s Flight in St. Lucia not normally available to divers off of a cruise ship. Non-divers will enjoy optional shore excursions, dive group activities and the company of those in the group.

Dive Package Information

We will be offering a dive package consisting of six ports of call. You are welcome to dive in each port or just in the ones that suit your fancy. Because we expect the demand this year to exceed the number of divers we can accommodate, only after you have deposited the cruise will you be able to add your name to the dive boat list.

We will visit the Pitons in St. Lucia and dive Superman’s Flight. We will do boat dives and have unlimited shore diving in Bonaire and Curacao as well as scheduling a twilight/night dive from shore in Bonaire (if time permits - ship sails at 7pm). We’ll be diving the Wreck of the Rhone in Tortola (make sure you rent “The Deep” made famous here by Jacqueline Bissett, before the cruise). In Dominica, we will be doing an amazing wall drift dive and in Barbados, we’ll be diving with an underwater photo expert.

Pricing for the optional dive package will be available around mid-April 2011; the approximate cost of the 6 port dive package is $700 per diver. We will be offering four dive packages. The more dives you do, the more you will save on the cost. You can purchase the dives a la carte or the following dive packages:

Dive Package A: About $400 - includes Tortola, Barbados & Dominica

Dive Package B About $300 - includes Bonaire, Curacao & St. Lucia

Dive Package C All six dive ports About $700


We will be limiting the number of certified divers who can dive with us in each port of call this year; however, non-divers are welcome on the cruise and there is no limit to the number (including family and friends) who are welcome to book into the scuba cruise group.

$100 February 2011 Booking Promotion

There is a February booking promotion of $100pp to deposit this cruise. Since there is no cancellation fee up through final payment, if you are not able to go on the cruise, you will get your deposit refunded in full. Please contact the group booking agent for details.
