Details: EVERYONE is invited to compete ! The spirit of this meet is not as competitive as the Open tournaments. The goal is to involve all spear fisherman and introduce some new divers to the meets who have not competed before. You do not have to be a member of a club to enter this meet, although it is recommended. This meet does not count towards the North Atlantic Championship series.

Awards: awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finish as well as Largest Fish.

PRIZES: Prizes from our wonderful Sponsors along with items provided by the Mass Freedivers Club will be provided TO ALL COMPETITORS ! Every diver that competes stands the same chance to win a great prize such as a SporTube Series 2 travel case, Werner Paddle and more.

Entry: Regular Entry fee is $20, however... we would like to be able to provide some food for after the tournament and all competitors are welcome to stay after weigh in and awards and enjoy. To help us get a head count on attendance we are allowing a DISCOUNTED PRE-REGISTRATION FEE of ONLY $5.00 if you preregister online before Sunday 5/25/14 . All entries paid after this date will be the regular entry fee of $20.00.

A Tournament or Club Membership Waiver Form must be filled out for all Mass Freedivers Tournaments. This is a kayak or paddleboard meet (muscle powered craft), however, you may walk or swim from and to the start.

Launch is from the Town Landing ramp/harbor. Park in the small lot on the harbor side or along the road, not in the boat trailer area. ( Google Sakonnet Point RI for overview and directions )

Fish: All fish will be 2 inches over the RI State DEM regulations minimum size. Bags limits will follow current RI State DEM and/or Federal regulations. Fish not governed by a minimum size shall be at least 12 inches in total length. Size and bags limits will be based on 2014 RI State DEM Regulations.

Scoring: One point is awarded per fish and per pound. The maximum weight to count toward scoring is 15 pounds. Therefore the maximum points per one fish are 16 points.

Equipment: This tournament will be a paddleboard (kayak) tournament with only muscle-powered transportation being allowed. A diver’s flag (12” x 12” minimum ) and personal USCG approved floatation device are required by State Law. A dive knife is also required. We suggest a 5 mm or 7 mm wetsuit. Belt stringers are permitted and popular with local divers. 55cm to 110 cm guns are generally used with 90cm being most common. Spearguns are permitted in the tournament area. GPS is allowed.

Travel Time: No Travel time for this tournament.

Tournament Time: 9:00 am till 2:00 pm. Divers must be back at the beach, at least standing in the water at 1:59.59 pm. or will be disqualified.

Check-in time is 8:00 a.m. so please show up early enough if you have to sign waiver or wish to become a club member.

Mandatory Divers/Competitors Meeting at 8:45 on beach at launch area to cover rules and boundaries.

Boundary: Sakonnet Point: Church Point to Warren Point. No crossing the navigation channel (Sakonnet River entrance).
BOUNDARY DESCRIPTION: The western-most part of Church Point west to a north/south line intersecting Old Bull red "4" nun, then south to the red "4" nun, then south southwest to the red "2A" bell buoy, then southeast to the Schuyler Ledge red "2" bell buoy, then east-northeast to the green and red Elisha Ledge can buoy, then northwest to the eastern-most portion of Warrens Point.
