Gus Grssom - Ed White - Roger Chaffee ... RIP
... your sacrifice was not in vain , we made it to the Moon .. and it surely saved those future Apollo crews and the crew of Apollo 13

NASA ..we push, we go, we expand the horizon .. we do not shrink back from taking educated and calculated risks ... it's what we do ... to do any less would be to dishonor those that gave so much doing just that

"Lost Moon" by Commander James Lovell (Apollo 13) has a terrifying account of the fire and the desperate and heroic attempts by the ground crew to get them out
