I finally got around to putting some NiMH batteries in my D4. I also put in an 18W bulb from the D4R. What a difference! Should have done it long ago.

For people in the Vancouver, BC area, I got the batteries and charger from Battery World for C$75.

$ 75 for the charger with 4 Ds ?

It's a good deal.

For me, I made the adapters to change the AA battery to suit for those D & C size batteries .

For example :

D8 ~ 32 AAs
D4 ~ 16 AAs
C8 ~ 16 AAs
C4 ~ 8 AAs
Night Rider D5 ~ 15AAs

Then I can run all my rechargable Ni-Mh batteries on all my toys.

In Ur case, I can exchange the 4 Ds with 16 AAs, .........4 to 1.
With the 2500mAh, 1.2V AA, U get 10,000mAh, same Voltage.
More power means longer burning time, but cheaper.
