Hi, I've just this minute received my new Abyss 22.....and WOW, that is one helluva lump of metal.eh?
Anyhow, I'm wondering whether it would be okay to use my Proton Metal as the octo?
A bit extreme maybe, but would it be okay?.............
I await your reply.........
Many thanks.

Your Proton Metal will make an excellent Octo.

I dive a 42T with an older Abyss 2nd (I like the bubble dispersion better) as my primary and use the Proton Metal that came with the set as my Octo. Smart thinking is that you want your Octo to breathe as good as your Primary, if you need to use it.

Cheers for the info........I figured that I might as well make use of the Proton as an octo, rather than have it idling about..........

Just to add to this... The 1st stages are often set at lower cracking pressures than Octos, to get easier breathing rather than an octo that needs to be freeflow resistant. If ever you find your proton metal freeflowing a lot, just have it readjusted for use as an Octo!

I dive a MR22 Abyss primary and a Proton metal octo. Great set up
