I am well aware that similar threads are currently active on this site but feel that this is such an important issue, the more exposure it gets the better.

As many of you will be aware, the government of Western Australia has passed a bill to begin a cull of Sharks in it's waters. The target of this cull are Great White Sharks due to an increase in shark attacks in coastal areas this year.

By WA Government's own admission there will also be "collateral damage" to other shark specie's populations as a result of these baited hooks and drums.

I am sure that many of you will share my feelings in that this is just wrong. We could also spend many hours discussing why this is wrong i.e its the shark's own habitat and that as swimmers, divers, surfers we are willing guests who understand the risks or how over fishing is driving the sharks closer to shore in the hunt for food. However, discussing these issues here will not get anything done, my appeal is for the simple signing, and sharing of online petitions to be presented to the WA government to end this madness.

I have given two petitions that take seconds to sign and share, please do so and feel free to add other petitions to this thread to also be signed.

Sign these petitions, share them with friends on e-mail and social media, share other petitions, write to Australian government officials. As a community we have to act.

I am not a cook, just a guy that enjoys spending time under the water and has respect for the life in the ocea that cannot defend itself against industrial scale killing.

Thanks,

Paul
