    Just watched this recent TED Talk for an effort to end plastic waste, both in the ocean and on land, that actually has a viable approach and financial backing. Please check it out and sign the petition at No Plastic Waste ...and spread the word.

    Seems like a bit of an oblique tangent on the problem. Not that recycling shouldn't be part of the mix.
