Abyss Octo

I'm in the process of purchasing regulators for myself and my wife from our LDS. We've decided on the Abyss and we'd like to have Abyss second stages for our octos as well. The shop tells me that the second stage is no longer sold by itself and Mares customer service confirmed that on the phone earlier today.

Do you know why Mares chose to stop offering the Abyss octo and is there any way for our shop to get hold of a couple of Abyss second stages?

Sorry for the delay, I was on vacation last week. Most want a smaller octo which is why we offer the Proton and Proton Metal. Have your shop give me a call if you absolutly want this and I will try to assist,
