Accomodation in Khao Lak

We've finally booked our flights & liveaboard in Khao Lak to the Similans for December! Now I wanted to canvas any opinions on where to stay for the day we arrive & just before we leave. We're diving with Sea Dragon on Nang Thong beach & are looking somewhere within walking distance to there & restaurants. We're after a bit of luxury if possible!

I've enquired at Gerd & Noi but they don't take single night bookings in advance. I was looking at Suwan Palm Resort & a deluxe room is GBP 26 a night. Has anyone stayed there? Any other ideas for alternatives?

stayed at the palm hill resort. its on a side road just up the hill. quiet and everything is in walking distance.

has pool. for dinner go down to the main road. also sea dragons are in walking distance.

We stayed at the Andaburi resort, if you call them in advance you can get a better rate for a week, especially in low season. Nice place, great pool and generally overall pretty good service. More info:
