I bought my doubles wing about 10 years ago and only used it a few times before an injury knocked me out for a while. It's an Apeks horseshoe wing with a single dump valve. I note that Apeks has gone away from this design and only makes donuts now.

Since I've been using single tank donut wings for a long time I find the horseshoe shape inconvenient for dumping air. There's a spot to add a second dump valve if I like.

For those who are regular doubles users:
  1. Should I stick with the horseshoe, single dump and learn new technique?
  2. Stick with the horseshoe and add a second dump?
  3. Switch to a donut-style doubles wing?

how much diving are you going to do
how much money do you have
do them all

1. the technique is not that hard and the horseshoes have the advantage of being able to pack air on one side. Particularly useful when diving with multiple stages
2. that's a bit more involved than you thing. The outer covers usually have a spot for, but that is usually a reinforced area for the second inflator. You would have to punch a hole in the inner bladder which is a bit precarious once it is welded together. Those holes are punched out prior to assembly.
3. you can if you want to
