If your sinuses are full of fungus and there is bony damage then your present concerns are larger than diving. After you recover completely it would be reasonable to undergo another scan and consult with a diving medicine specialist. I wish you an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.

True, but I can't do much about the current situation other than research and ask questions. There are lots of things that can go bad and there is very little I can do about it.

It's not improbable that I'm done diving, but I'll look into it more after recovery. ENT said that trying to seal (edit: seal with bone) the anterior skull base hole that likely exists would be unwise at this point, and she expects that it isn't something that would likely be a problem for me (other than diving) if it wasn't closed. But we'll see how I feel about in a few months.
