Advice for SNORKELING trip in Phuket late November

I will be in Phuket for a few days in late November and want to book a snorkeling trip. There will be 8 of us, mostly absolute beginners. From what I have been reading it sounds like Racha Noi or RachaYai would be a good destination but I'd like some feedback from someone who knows the area.

Also, where can we find an easy beach entry where gear can be rented so I can get them comfortable with snorkeling before the big boat trip? We will be staying at Baan Laimai Beach Resort.

I don’t know your destination but i can say : don’t rent snorkeling gear, buy your own material and experiment it before your holidays.
If you are beginners you have to learn the basics … to be happy during your holidays .
