Reviving an old thread. I'm off to Thailand for a few weeks, and was planning on doing the TDI AN/DP courses. I've been considering doing the XR course as i've already in my limited diving history been to dive sites where there is simply nothing other than compressed air available. I dove to 40m on air and deco'd on air. Other people with more experience were pushing 60m. The reality is that this kind of diving does happen, and i'd rather be trained in it properly rather than just dumbl following the dive computer. Does the XR course still offer skills that I won't learn during the AN/DP? I'm a little confused after reading this thread.

Cheers
