Saw this strange thing on an underhang in 30m of water in the southern red sea on thursday. Is it a sponge? I thought I was narc'ed when I first saw it. But the camera never lies. Can anyone id it?

Since proper identification to the species level for most sponges requires a microscope, you aren't revealing any shortcomings at all
I'd say that it's some type of tube sponge. Beyond that, I wouldn't hazard a guess.
