Yes, actually, if one wishes their posts to be read it is much more likely that they will be read if they are broken into paragraphs. I am not always in the mood to wade through long posts with no breaks to direct my eyes.

On the age thing, no worries, age is not the issue, for most folks it is their weight and their fitness (lack thereof) that puts a period on their diving endeavors. They will likely not admit that but that is what I observe. When it becomes an exercise in pain and effort and wheezing and to contain the belly within the rubber outfit, many find sitting around reminiscing an easier and preferable undertaking. Me, I plan to die with my boots on, I love pain and I will relax when I am dead, until then, no fear, it is GO TIME! And let's make it hurt.

... I prefer to make it hurt at the gym ... when I'm diving, it's my time to relax and enjoy myself ...

I'm working on the weight. Long hard struggle, but just losing 30# made climbing back into the boat in Sipadan much easier. I'm sure when I've lost another 30# (below 300), I'll find that I can accelerate my weight loss with a return to jogging. Anyway, thanks for the words of wisdom.

I do not separate activities. If something is worth doing it is worth doing with passion and intensity. That is my way, you are welcome to your way.

Well, I just turned 70 and hope to continue diving at least the next ten years, maybe 20. I weigh somewhere around 195 pounds, and will be bringing that down a bit more, maybe into the 170s. I enjoy my solo diving in the Clackamas River, and am following the aquatic life there. So just keep on doin', and don't stop. I do a lot of bicycling, and have a recumbant stationary bike too that I use. I get a minimum of 1/2 hour a day exercise, whichever way I can. Tomorrow, I will be in the pool for about an hour, both with fins and without. Last summer I documented the low stream levels in the Clackamas River, and the subsequent salmon kill. I also follow smaller critters.

Not everyone feels passion and intensity at an Energizer Bunny level. My long slow dives are full of passion and intensity.
