Anyone ever taken a Transpacific cruise?

The only criteria to be sure of on these types of cruises are if you are comfortable with 'sea days' because that's what you're going to have a lot of. If you're the type who enjoys sea days then you'll be comfortable on these types of cruises, they don't appeal to the majority of cruisers which is why they are such a 'bargain' compared to other cruise itineraries. But if you're one of those in the minority who not just enjoys sea days, but loves them then you can really take advantage of these type of cruises.

If the bargain price is the draw, you can match the bargains with more typical cruises by being able to book a last minute cruise, typically with 1-3 weeks of departure. There are websites that you can find 'last minute' cruises with more typical itineraries at prices that will match or beat the trans cruise or re-positioning cruises. Not unheard of to get prices under $50-$60 per day per person. I consider anything under $100 a day per person a good deal.
