As Christi says, they are always to be found. Best shot I have was at Columbia shallows in June. Literally ran into it. In winter months you see sqadroons up north. January is a good time for them there.
 
We saw about a dozen mixed over a dozen dives over Thanksgiving. Cantarell gave us 6 of the 12 and the only ones swimming in shallow water (40-50) feet. All the rest were in the deep. A pretty memorable one coming out of the exit of Devil's throat and by luck being at the right place at the right time, and he was just swimming by.
