Aros, Sudan - anybody dove there in the 80s?

Aparrently it was an entirely different resort "run by spies" - see article (and maybe the movie when it comes out).
Did anybody dive there? Or get rescued through there? Any stories?

Its a nice article but given the political instability in the region, it will be a while before it takes off as a diving tourist area.

Totally agree...
One never knows so, maybe someone on SB was there ... at the time...
Maybe as a diver / resort guest ...
maybe otherwise... (is SB read in Israel?)
Who knows ...
Or maybe someone did extricate tthrough there... Or someone knows someone...

It would be cool to possibly "hear" a first and story
