Always enjoy reading your columns Dr. Bill. I used to live in Bradenton, FL in Manatee Co. and got to see these beauties up close and personal in the Crystal Springs area. Too bad they aren't on the west coast except for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
 
Mom lived in Sarasota for decades (mostly in winter during her earlier years) and she had manatees in the yacht basin just below her screened lanai. They were pretty cool to watch.
