I hope to see better regulations, and I can't believe I'm saying this, in the Yucatan on the tour boat operators during whale shark season. It saddens me to see them cut off the fish from it's feeding path to drop a boat-full of snorkelers on top of it. And I do mean "on top" of the fish. People seem to enjoy jumping onto a back of the large animal and sometimes even grabbing a fin for a ride. We called them whale bombers - but they didn't seem offended in the least. I'm stepping off my soap box now and will refrain from stating how I really feel.

Being in the water with these amazing animals is a treat - if this has been on your bucket list, I highly recommend seeking out an area to see them.
