I just returned from the December 22nd to the 29^th Nekton Cruise in
Belize, where new and old friends joined us for the holidays. Ive
decided that Im ready to permanently relocate to the bulkhead cabin of
the Nekton Pilot. With a cozy bed and windows on 2-sides that allow me
to continuously view the ocean as we make our late night moves from one
beautiful dive site to the next One morning I woke up and the water
was white through one set of windows and pitch black through the other
like a Napoleon dessert . We were moored over the wall. Sand bottom on
one side and dropping off the wall on the other .. That was my favorite
dive . It was our dive master, Sams favorite spot, with sand chutes
between coral heads and unbelievably beautiful and healthy sponge.
We flew into Belize City a few days early, rented a 4-wheel drive
vehicle and trekked across the country to San Ygnacio. We stayed in a
fashionable and comfortable Guest House for $60.00 a night, joined with
a convoy to visit the ruins called Carocol, which means conch, then
cooled off under a waterfall.
We boarded the Nekton Pilot on Saturday night and all I can say about
the trip and diving is, Im ready to go again. In fact, Im booking
next Christmas today. Our family has always shared a Christmas trip.
Weve done Yosemite, Paris, San Miguel Island on our own boat many
times .. I think that Belize aboard the Nekton Pilot was the best.
I really appreciate the design of the Nekton ships. They are real dive
boats. You have elbow room, whether on the deck reading a book, eating
in the dining room, watching a movie in the lounge or suiting up on the
dive deck .. dive, dive, dive . That is what these ships are made for
and that is what we did.
Guests had the opportunity to try my fins . Some prototypes Launch
Pads with Foils, some Force Fins ready to go SD1, and of course, some
of our favorites our Original, Pro and Tan Delta, and Foil Force Fin.
We recorded their reactions and will post to forcefin.com later in the
week
