What courses do i need to take to earn a grey card?

How about white or grey duct tape on top of your fin? If you are shooting in raw and setting WB in post, all you need is a big enough piece to get the eye dropper on.

You can do a white balance on you buddy”s tank if galvanized.

The idea with the tank is very good, but my upcoming trip is to the Maldives and everybody dives with yellow-green nitrox tanks there.

I am wondering if anyone has compared custom white balance using the palm vs. a grey card. Are the differences big?

I’m a diver that takes pictures not a photographer who dives
This might be a false dichotomy. There are also divers who are photographers.

Not at the same time
You are stretching. When Jill Heinerth is doing some cave photography, for example, are you suggesting she is not diving 100% of the time?

I have no idea who that is but is the focus focus or is it diving?

Look her up.
If you are in a cave, your focus better be diving.
