On recent dives, my trusty Big Blue AL1200WP (which has four levels of brightness settings, plus an "SOS" emergency mode), went into flashing mode at depth. The switch was stuck and would not clear. Not wanting my fellow divers thinking I was in some sort of distress,I put the light back in my BCD pocket where it stayed until I surfaced.
On the boat the switch unstuck and returned to normal. I suspect some debris particle or corrosion compromised the on-off switch...but why would it work perfectly again back at the surface?...Otherwise it's been a great dive light for many years. Any ideas ?
