My wife was on koumadin for a while following treatment for a blood clot and dove with no problems. There are some potential risks however as you are more likely to encounter bleeding in the ears or sinuses if you have trouble clearing so you need to be a bit more careful than normal on descent and ascent

You also need to see your doctor to discuss the risks and determine if it is something you should be doing in your particular case. A lot will depend on what you are being treated for, what you are taking and how much of it you are taking.

In my wife's case the blood clot was originally discovered during a dive where it popped loose from where it formed in her leg and went to her lung. She had trouble breathing immediately after the dive and after about 10 days of mis diagnosis they finally discovered the evidence of the clot in her leg and in her lung. The scary part is that it just as easily could have taken a right instead of a left and ended up in her brain where it probably would have been fatal under the circumstances.
