Any thoughts? Shallow dive area (sand patch obviously) at either Country Garden or Jeff Davis Memorial dive site (can't remember which).

Head was about 2 to 3 inches across. I have no idea how much was buried in the sand, although the only part exposed was its head. Only other picture I have is this one:

Someone suggested (and I am tending to agree) that it's a Snapper Eel (Echiophis punctifer)
 
Gymnothorax ocellatus, Sand Moray. They often burrow in search of crustaceans, found more in bays and estuaries than on reefs.
