when switching to BO do any of them trap any water that might have accumulated in the dsv and allow you to purge it out when you make the switch?

exhale through your mouth a little to purge any water, then open the valve. do the same with a stock DSV.

Depending on the BOV, your biggest risk would be a pinched o-ring on the barrel (if the design incorporates one) or a partially closed/open BOV. But under normal operation the water it gets in will be negligible if any. You'll have way more drool, and loop condensate.
