I am not a photographer's photographer, just more of an underwater tourist who likes to have a record of things she's seen. I'm happy enough with my Nikon Coolpix L24. All in, it was about $100 for the camera and $250 for the Ikelite housing. It doesn't have the manual settings mentioned in the first reply, but as I said, I'm not *really* a photographer, so I probably wouldn't have the patience to learn to use them anyway. I know several people in similar boats happy with their roughly equivalent point-and-shoots from other brands as well.
