Hi,
why do we have to calibrate WB? Why do we have to use the manual setting but not Auto?

if i do not have a white/grey slate, how can i calibrate my WB?

notice that there are a few preset WB setting, can i use that?

If i m using the preset WB setting, how do i know i m getting the correct setting? Thru LCD?

You don't have to calibrate the white balance if you're using a strobe, you can leave it set to Auto.
If you're not using a strobe then setting the white balance allows you to take shots that are not so blue.

Preset white balance can help but it's not always what you want. The manual white balance is better

To calibrate the one-touch WB point the camera at something that you know is white and the camera will adjust itself so other colours come into line with what white looks like at depth. You'll have to adjust every few meters at depth as white will look different at different depths
