Captain Van of the Narcosis already put out a BOLO over the radio when this happened on Saturday, but I figured I'd back it up with a post on SB. My trusty old Canon Powershot A630 in a WP-DC8 housing slipped out of my grip while diving the Tunnels on Saturday, June 15th, and by the time I realized it was gone it was probably about 70 feet over my head taking a merry solo voyage with the Gulf Stream. At the time I briefly debated surfacing to find it, but instead I just said the hell with it and stayed down there. I think I was more peeved that I wasn't able to take pics of the ensuing conga line of photo ops - lots of baby green turtles, goliaths, Caribbean reef sharks, and a couple of big 'ol loggerheads.

On the one hand, I had been debating getting a newer and fancier setup anyway (since I'm no longer a graduate school pov). On the other I took about 4600 pics on that camera over three years and I did specifically like how it was small, easily stowed out of the way, and not something that would reduce me to a shell-shocked wreck if it was lost or flooded. Figured I'd put the alert out and see if someone stumbles across it.
