I just bought my first underwater housing complete with the old version Canon 5D classic, the case is a well used Sea + Sea. It came with a 17-40 gear ring which is a little slack if I try to use it on my Canon L 16-35mm II lens. I've considered wrapping a bit of self amalgamating tape around the lens focus ring. I thought before I did that I would ask here to see if anyone can suggest a better method, or perhaps there is a spacer or some such thing I can buy instead of going out and spending nearly $200 on the correct focus ring.

Thanks for your help.
