It will cost a lot to vaccinate 270m people.
Where is the money came from?

Indonesia courts controversy with private COVID vaccine scheme

Did not realize Bali was contributing 5.2b to the national economy in 2019.
No wonder preferential treatment is dished out to take good care of the "gold mine". Have to start from somewhere first.

    Good luck.

This looks like a great opportunity for your government to practice a bit of soft diplomacy by giving away some Sinovax that it’s making :poke:

It’s a real pity that the German government are doing all they can to discredit the AstraZenica vaccine which is considerably cheaper at $3/dose and far easier to store and transport than some other vaccines.

Eventually there will be plenty of vaccines funded by wealthy nations. For now they are focussing on their own populations with the limited supply. Probably by the end of this year vaccine production will ramp up to a global scale.

There’s some pretty despicable vaccine politics going on right now, especially with the EU, Russia and China.

I hope it has nothing to do because BioNTec is in Germany. Because I do not believe Merkel is this kind of person. France is completely the opposite.
BioNTec is about 8 times more expensive.
There is distinct possibility that yearly injection might be required!!!!

The evidence seems to suggest that some German government officials are doing their hardest to discredit the AZ vaccine, even briefing complete lies. The EU vaccination program is incredibly slow and they’re constantly spouting nonsense.

Macron, Merkel and von der Leyen are responsible for the slow rollout in the EU and increasing vaccine hesitancy across the bloc.

The good news is that the covid death rate in the UK is plummeting as a result of the vaccine rollout- currently at over 50% of the population vaccinated. This proves the effectiveness of widespread vaccinations, especially when compared with the EU's slow rate (currently 16%) where they are now facing a third covid wave.

I hate the conspiracy theory but anything is possible especially after Brexit. And that should cause resentment in certain sectors particularly France and Germany. And could well be the start of the disintegration of EU!

It is incredible that senseless bickering is preferred than the welfare of their own people!
