Funny topic! I had a few encounters and saw that the,giant clam's flesh began to jerk fairly quickly when approached. A buddy tried sticking a twig into it. Nothing happened. Im not about to find out. No interest in the Darwins award. Enough things can go wrong already...
On a side note, saw two that fell over perhaps from a LOB anchor accident. Our guide uprighted them for "replant". He was alright.
