It is a salp, often found in chains ... correctly identified (IMHO) as Thetys vagina.

Then I was :headscratch: Strange what scientists name these critters.
We scientists are strange people. Of course the "powers that be" wouldn't let me name the one species I discovered. Wonder why.
Billfish was already taken.

Hell, all these times I thought that they were some sort of jellyfish or fish eggs.
