Can you ban gifs/animated pictures for avatars

We've had this discussion before, and the short answer is that we allow users to express themselves in this way. We're not willing to disable their fun for the very few who don't like it.
 
Ok, managed to find way to block selected pictures. Thanks for response
 
I just "ignore" people with avatars, views or language that I find unduly rude, irritating or distressing.

As the Chairman says:
we allow users to express themselves in this way
but we are not compelled to listen or see.

Life is too short.

If you use AdBlock, you can click on the blinking image, and block it.....

Ditto, didn't know you can do that. I was thinking the same thing recently about the animated gif avatars, I thought 1999 was over and the eyesores of Geocities were long gone :D
 
If you use AdBlock, you can click on the blinking image, and block it.....

Another here, thanks for that lesson. Been using AdBlock for years (though I do allow ads here, before I get jumped), never knew that one.
