Thanks for your reply. So a camera and underwater case without any lens or attachments would be neutrally boyant in both cases? And neither would require weights?

Based on your earlier comment: "Canon sells a weight kit to go with their housing, while the Ikelite only claims to be 'neutrally buoyant under water.'"

... I would say the Ikelite will be neutral, and the Canon will be positive. (Most Canon OEM housings are positive, without weight, be it in the form of handle/tray/strobe/lenses or the weight kit).

I just got the S90 and WP-DC35 (my first underwater camera) and it's quite positively buoyant. I will need to add weight. Though maybe when it's on a wrist strap it won't bother me so much.

Which Canon housing(s) did you have prior to this one??-- that one looks almost identical to the one I have for my A570, that is almost 3 years old...tia....

The Canon housing for the A570 is very positive---but I love it like that---I always know where it is ie about 8 inches above my left wrist...........Also think it makes it easier to 'hold still' on shots---which in reality makes a 'good' shot, assuming you've all the right parameters figured out, lol......

INON WP-DC35???????? on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Check it out - looks promising, likely the best mount base INON has ever made. May cost as much as the FIX AD28 adaptor for their housing, but the Canon housing itself costs $600US less. Enough to purchase 2 or 3 of the new INON LE-550W 550 lumen wide angle (75 degree) 3 AA lights to mount on it for both video and still lighting, and maybe forgo strobe altogether.

That is exciting news. The kit looks to be a test "mule" as it looks a little neolithic-ish compared to typical Inon equipment. The three tabs will be used to anchor the finished adapter as is usual. The light mount is innovative and clever. That looks like a 28AD mount but cannot be sure from that photo. Hopeful that this might provide a low cost alternative. N
