Ive been monitoring the weather for Avalon for this weekend and it looks to be good but Im wondering if the storm that is going to hit tomorrow or Wednesday will negatively affect visibility for this weekend? Are the water temps still dropping?

Thanks,

Nick

Nick- Vis as of today is poor (8-10 ft) due to the storm yesterday. It usually takes 2-4 days for things to settle out. It will depend on how strong the storm tomorrow night is. They say it will be stronger than Sunday's.

Bottom temperatures didn't really drop that much due to the past two weekend storms. Bottom temp at 100 ft Sat. was 59 degrees at one spot, 60 at another. Bottom temp at that depth before the storms was 61 F. Pretty nice for this time of year (last year at same depth 57-59 F).

I am leaving Thursday for a week down at Guadelupe to dive with the great white sharks so I won't be diving here this weekend, or monitoring conditions after Wed.

Hope that helps.

Have fun in Guadelupe Dr. Bill

Checked conditions today. Things are looking fairly good. Vis is picking up, seas are calm, forecast is for 78 in LA this weekend. Awesome! Gee, and I'll be "stuck" diving off Guadalupe for the next week. Goota run and catch my boat. Have a great weekend.

Thanks for the update Dr Bill. I cant wait to get my feet wet again after so long. I hope you have (or had, if you are reading this after returning fro your trip) a great time. Say hi to Bruce the Shark for me.

UPDATE!

Conditions were AWESOME! Awesome vis and the Sun was shining on us all day Saturday! We even met a couple of the locals that night at the cantina. Guy named Chris blew us away with his card magic!
