Original in French: Incidente mortale a speleosub 70enne alla Résurgence de la Marnade nel Gard

Google translation...
Mortal accident at the 70-year-old cave diver at the Résurgence de la Marnade in Gard
By Andrea Scatolini on November 11th, 2019

On Sunday 10 November, a 70-year-old French speleosub lost his life to the Résurgence de la Marnade, in the Gard, due to a decompression accident.
The expert speleologist was in the company of eight other people. In a statement from the rescuers we read that "the call came for a 70-year-old man who presented with decompression accident symptoms and was taken back to the cave entrance, but he quickly went into cardio-respiratory arrest" .
Several Gard firefighters intervened for more than three hours with an officer, an ambulance, a vehicle and a civil security helicopter to rescue him and try to revive him. He was transported by helicopter to the University Hospital Center of Nîmes where, unfortunately, he died late in the evening.
A judicial investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the accident.
