More rescue teams are being called in to a cave rescue in Jackson County, Tenn.

Jackson County Emergency Management said a male diver is missing after going diving with a group of others in a cave along Flynn's Creek Road in Gainesboro.

The initial call came in at about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday morning about a group of five going diving, but one diver not coming back up. All members of the group are reported to be experienced divers, but not from the area.

To access the cave, you have to go underwater to reach dry air pockets within the cave.

Jackson County EMA said it's unclear if the divers were all in the cave at once or if they were trading in and out of the cave. The missing diver is believed to have a wetsuit and air tank. Crews aren't sure if he has food or water.

The diving group had been staying in the area for the past few days.

Jackson County Emergency Management and Hamilton County Rescue Service are on scene. Two specialized cave diving rescue teams are coming from Arkansas and Florida to assist.

Thanks for posting. Had seen a story previously, as it is semi-local, but story read as a "caving" incident, didn't mention diving, so I assumed it was spelunking...
Hoping for a happy ending.

The news is saying the cave is 400ft long and the diver was in a drysuit. Crossing my fingers they find him alive and soon.

They're bringing is a vast collection of rescue teams and others, setting up a field hospital, anything anyone can imagine - it's being done. Since the diver is an experience caver in a dry suit, the outlooks sounds as good as possible.

A FB friend is posting that the rescue was successful.

Still looking for news sources.

Ignore the out of date video: Rescuers recover UK diver who disappeared while exploring Tennessee underwater cave
A highly experienced British diver who went missing as he explored an underwater cave east of Nashville has been rescued.

The diver was identified Wednesday night as Josh Bratchley, a British member of the elite international team that helped rescue 12 soccer players and their coach from a Thailand cave in July.

Bratchley is said to be in good health and good spirits, according to Bill Whitehouse of the British Cave Rescue Council.

On Wednesday, a 911 call came in at 1:17 a.m. that Bratchley, who'd been diving at the Mill Pond Cave, had disappeared, Jackson County Emergency Management Agency said.

Bratchley had traveled to the U.S. with a group from the U.K. specifically to explore the cave that's only reachable under water.

The group of experienced divers had been staying in the area for the last two or three days, said Ethan Burris, a public information officer for the Jackson County Emergency Management Agency.
