This little guy was about 1foot long and not very scared until you got pretty close. On a sand flat in about 40 feet of water. Thanks in advance

I _think_ they can change colours, depending on the background. Was the darker one on a darker background? I sometimes see them on rubble or reefs, but mainly on sand.

You might be on to something as the one at BHB was in a dark area next to a piling.
 
We have seen a few times. Soo cool. Apparently on a full moon they are extremely active and the rest of the time just chill. I thought that was just part of aging.
