My apologies for not getting back to people on this earlier... our policy is to tell thread starters why their thread was closed, I made the mistake of thinking people would understand why I closed this one.... again, my mistake.
As far as why the thread is closed, well it's rather simple (or at least I saw it as simple). A member made a legitimate and good suggestion which will be considered like all other suggestions. The suggestion forum is just that -- for suggestions which we welcome. What we do not want to have happen is people posting suggestions and other people insulting, questioning their suggestion. The point of the forum is for anyone to state what they think would contribute to the board -- if you like a suggestion, great, if not you are welcome to post your own suggestion. In this case, the suggestion was made, a few people chimed in with their thoughts then some comments were made that looked like they could take the discussion the opposite way so I closed it – the idea was presented, debate is not needed – its just an idea at this point and shouldn’t be scorned. Closing the thread is not to say ScubaBoard has a problem with the idea, not at all - but rather that we want suggestions to be welcomed, not taken off topic.
