Spammers need to know

Don

Now that I think about it I must make a change to one statement I made above... As someone pointed out to me, we had one other little "Hit and Run" spammer here, the rebreather post from DiveCommando.com.

Many of you know how Eddie (at diverlink) handles it... He just posts it on his site and from what I've seen, that seems to work. People seem to think twice before "spidering" the site to collect emails and spam all of them.

I will be honest here, I normally just delete spam because I am just to busy to deal with it, but I have now been slammed in the last 3 days with 23 emails from the SAME 4 sites that I get spammed with EVERY WEEK! It's just getting old! They are always the exact same email but to different email addresses which just tells me they like to spider sites and collect everyones email addy... (now you know why we give you the ability to hide your email on this forum)

No big deal you may say? I must filter through no less than 300+ emails a day, maybe 1/2 of them are legit, 1/4 of them are your usual porn/stocks/casino sites and the last 1/4 of them are a random mixture of misc websites and SCUBA DIVING sites!

It actually REALLY bothers me that there has been a increase of scuba diving sites that think SPAM is a good way to do business....

KN,

Obviously we are a large enough entity that we ARE making waves. Notice to all spammers: If you spam this website or any of it's members the result will be a boycott against your company and all of it's products.

Let's can the SPAM

I've seen the boycott page on Diverlink and make sure I would never do business with any company that spams, even if they are a diving business. I get too much spam as it is and I think the best way to discourage the practice is not to make it profitable for spammers.

You can't rely on spammers and their sense of what's right. If they knew what was right they wouldn't be spammers.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to all. I don't want to think about those slugs on this day. Keep up the good work here!
